What was the immediate effect of americas use of atomic weapons in 1945
Do you have any choices?
I chose Japan surrendered unconditionally. There were 3 other choices but I don't remember them.
If there are no choices and it is simply a free response: The dropping of the atomic bombs on both locations in Japan had multiple immediate effects. First of all, it helped stop the war and potentially saved millions of lives by preventing further war and bloodshed. It showed America's strength and President Truman's willingness to take chances on weapons that we thought may destroy the universe until we had tested one of them. Politically, people began to (and still do) question President Truman's choice to drop the atomic bombs. They call(ed) him a war criminal for all the innocent people killed by dropping them, even though it may have saved millions more lives. When it comes to the military, other countries would begin to question how adequate their weapons are. Also, some countries would feel the need to step up their militarized game when it came to the war. This is all I have off the top of my head. Hope it helps!
