please help!

OpenStudy (study312):

What is the width of the window?

OpenStudy (study312):

What are you starting with?

OpenStudy (annie12m):

let me see what it is

OpenStudy (study312):

First make \[6\frac{ 3 }{ 4 }\] a improper fraction. Do you know how to do that?

OpenStudy (annie12m):

6 3/4 + 6 3/4 = 27/4 + 27/4 = 54/4 = 13.5 25.875-13.5 = 12.375 divided by 2 = 6.1875 for each width ?

OpenStudy (annie12m):

ya? no? hello? @Study312

OpenStudy (study312):

I don't quite know, I think there is something missing

OpenStudy (annie12m):

ima say yes

OpenStudy (study312):

because if you are trying to find out how much of something you need to fill something you would divide the fraction but we have only one fraction

OpenStudy (study312):

dividing fractions is the same as multiplying them so maybe 6 x 4 + 3 = 27 so 27/4. 27 x 27 = 729, 4 x 4 =16, 729/16. now we make it improper again 729 divided by 16 = \[9\frac{ 45 }{ 16 }\] |dw:1451928169722:dw|
