Anyone? The coordinates of a point on a coordinate grid are (−1, 5). The point is reflected across the x-axis to obtain a new point. The coordinates of the reflected point are (4 points) (1, −5) (−1, 5) (1, 5) (−1, −5)

To start, if you're flipping something across the x-axis, will it change the x-value or the y-value?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got the answer @colinvda its B. (-1, 5)

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

thats the point you started with...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhh..... yes it is...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it will change the x-axes right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@RhondaSommer ?

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

here

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

so when you are looking for the reflection; the easiest trick is to switch the signs on them for example: if you have (1,2) your reflection would be (-1,-2)

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

(-1,5) is what you have; so if you switch the signs it would be...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(1, -5)
