The first part of the New Deal was about relief. Did these relief efforts succeed? Answer: The relief part of the new deal was beneficial to the American general public, but it did not manage to reach everyone or end the Great Depression. However, programs like the CCC were a huge boon to the public, as well as WWI veterans who might not have been able to find work elsewhere. The CCC, or Civilian Conservation Corps were a group of young men who planted trees, fought forest fires, and other nature related activities. They were paid 30 dollars a month, of which 25 was automatically sent to their families. Apart from paying them and feeding them, the CCC also taught many young men life skills, such as reading and writing. Apprenticeships were also available to those who were interested, such as carpentry. Did the New Deal end the Great Depression? The New Deal, while it did not completely end the Great Depression, was crucial to the road to recovery. In fact, it was not until America joined WWII that the economy finally began running smoothly again, thanks to the war industry needing more workers.
