How do I solve this? Please show the process

What I did. Ignore everything that isn't colored in yellow

OpenStudy (abdullahm):

The main objective is to isolate the variable 'c' We would start doing that by subtracting by 32 on both sides. What do you get when you subtract by 32 on both sides?

OpenStudy (abdullahm):

Well, in your work you got that part correct. Your mistake comes when you divide by 9/5 on both sides.

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

\[f=\frac{ 9 }{ 5 }c+32\] \[f-32 = \frac{ 9 }{ 5 }c\] that looks good

OpenStudy (abdullahm):

Dividing by 9/5 is the same thing as multiply by 5/9. You should have done this: \(\Large\frac{5}{9} \cdot \frac{9}{5}c = \frac{5}{9} (F-32)\) And to simplify it, you need to use the distributive property which states: a(b-c) = ab - ac

OpenStudy (abdullahm):

@-Welp- Hello, are you there?

OpenStudy (-welp-):

Thanks!

OpenStudy (abdullahm):

No problem!
