OpenStudy (amberlykhan):

Consider each expression. Is the expression a third-degree polynomial? Select Yes or No. A. 8g^2h - 4gh^2 B. 3x^2 + 5x + 6 C. 8 + 4n - 5n^2 + n^3

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Add up the degrees of each term and see!

OpenStudy (amberlykhan):

A = 4 B = 3 C = 6 So: No Yes No? @tkhunny

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

I see only 3, 2, 1, and 0 for the degree of any term shown. Where did you get 4 and 6?

OpenStudy (amberlykhan):

For A, g^2 and h^2 is 2 + 2 which is 4. For C, n is the same as n^1 and n^2 and n^3 which is 1 + 2 + 3 which is 6. @tkhunny

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

No good. Each term separately. gh^2 ==> 1 (for the g) + 2 (for the h) = 3

OpenStudy (amberlykhan):

Is it yes no yes @tkhunny

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

There you have it.
