need help pls What is the minimum number of pieces of molding William would have to buy if he makes his purchase from Construction Depot Store? What is the minimum number of pieces of molding William would have to buy if he makes his purchase from Home Repair Store? Explain your answer.
William hasn't finished this molding job yet? Oh goodness.. what a bum :\
k so there's Constructuon depot store: Molding price 2.40/foot and Home Repair store: Molding price: 2.50 / foot
ikr
oh and First one uses 12-foot peices, and 2nd uses 10-foot peices
pieces
Well how much molding does he need? :o
oh, 65 1/8 forgot to put that
My guess is 12.00 for the first one and 15.00 for the 2nd one, not sure though
So first figure out how many 12-foot pieces and 10-foot pieces he would need to complete the job.
The 10-foot are a little easier, 10 x 7 = 70 feet, that should cover it, ya? So he needs 70 feet of molding from the store that charges 2.50 per foot.
oh, so i'm way off
hehe lil bit XD
kk well 6 pieces for the 2nd one?
6 x 12 = 72 Ok good, that should cover his 65 1/8 that he needs. So he's buying 72 feet from the store that charges 2.40 per foot. or buying 70 feet from the store that charges 2.50 per foot.
ok thanks once again! Might need help again cri :c
If it's 2.50 for a foot, and we have 70 of these feet, we have 70 of these 2.50's, ya? Understand what type of problem this is? :)
Um, no
it's just multiplication, right? 2.50 for a foot. We have 70 of these alleged "foot"s. So we have 70 groups of 2.50. You're just comparing total prices. 70 x 2.50 = ? 72 x 2.40 = ? And seeing which one is a better deal. Good stuff? :o
ok, ty
