A particle moves through a distance of 10 m along an electric field of strength 75 N/C. Its electrical potential energy decreases by 4.8 x 10-16 J. What is the potential difference between the initial and final locations of the particle? i know it is 750 V i just dont know if it shoud be positive or negative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the formula is delta V=-E*delta D,

wrong i knew it negative @lifeEngineer

In science if you need to find the change in a quantity it is always the final value minus the initial value.. So if the particles potential decreases the potential difference must be negative.
