I am going to create a painting out of oil pastels on a black piece of paper. I want to create a night sky, just moon and no stars. I need some ideas on what colors I can use. I will medal the person with best idea.

I know this is not really a design question, but its the closest I could find to art that is not art history.

OpenStudy (keigh2015):

If you weren't doing it on black paper then you could use purple as the background and then with the moon use a yellow-y color and for the starts use white.

I do like the idea of purple as the main color.

OpenStudy (keigh2015):

Ok, well if you do purple you could do the same thing with the moon and stars.

OpenStudy (ninafilipyeva):

Or, my favorite color. Midnight blue. That is how it is called. It is the color of midnight.

I love your ideas!

OpenStudy (ninafilipyeva):

Thanks. I hope you like your painting!

Thank you!!! I will upload a picture after the gallery!
