What is a biome and what is the difference between a desert, forest, and grassland biome?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know what a biome already is i just need help on what the difference is between it

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

Ok so describe both a biome and the others.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A biome is a large naturally occurring community of flora and fauna occupying a major habitat. Such as forest and tundras

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

Oh so wait it copies forest and tundras huh..... So what does that tell us?

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

Can it copy a desert?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That their all similar in relationships. But it can not copy a desert because of it's lack of water so therefore it is not able to grow certain things as forest and tundra because it is so moist and wet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does that sound about right?

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

Sounds about right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright thank you
