Speed decreases as time increases for the same distance true or false

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

by definition, you know that, \(\color{#000000 }{ \displaystyle {\rm speed}=\frac{\rm distance}{\rm time} }\) If you keep the same distance, and make the time smaller, then you are going to be dividing the distance by a smaller number. You should know that for any: divident / divisor = result if you make the divisor smaller, then the result will be larger.

So your answer would be true

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

note, my statement is precise if the divident, divisor and the result are positive, and that fortunately is by definition true in a context of your problem. (Speed, time and distance are all scalar positive quantities)
