Question

Help please with letter for National Junior Honors Society! Any suggestions would be helpful, grammar or context or anything. I was supposed to write about how I will uphold the values and beliefs (scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character) and why I would be a good candidate. Thanks!

I am very honored to be considered for a spot on the National Junior Honor Society. I feel that I have a lot that I could contribute to the group as well as gain. First of all, I am very focused and determined on academics. I have gotten Principles list my entire middle school career and I am set on continuing to excel academically as I move on to high school and beyond. I will provide my service by giving up my time to help others. By being a member of the NJHS I would become a better member of my community. I am willing and able to volunteer and help others without reward or recognition. Volunteering is not only how I will provide my services, but also something that I will do as a good citizen. Being helpful and active in your community is a big part of citizenship. Citizenship are essential for being a good leader. I work well with others, and I am supportive of others. I will most likely have to work with others for the rest of my life, so these are very good skills to have. I look forward to working with other members of the NJHS so that I can learn from their abilities, and share my skills with them. I am also confident and organized. A good leader must be confident in themselves otherwise nobody will be confident in them. I feel that I would be a good also means respecting the law and respecting other citizens. I have multiple qualities that person to choose for a spot on the National Junior Honor Society because I am dedicated, responsible, and trustworthy. I will be 100% committed to the group and ready to participate. I cannot wait to be a part of the NJHS so that I can grow as a student and as a person.

I also had to write a paper to be accepted into my school's NHS program, and we never used "the" with it. It was simply "National Honor Society", not "the National Honor Society".
It's a small point, anyway.

I would scrap this sentence or just rewrite it entirely.

Better. I think your structure might be more clear if you add "second," and "third," or "last". Notice that for your first character trait you say "First of all...."
That might help to give it some clarity, and to make it easier for the reader. Your character traits get a bit jumbled together.
