Suppose you discover a new organism. What would you expect to see if you studied it under a microscope?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

what do you normally see when you look at an organism under a microscope?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

it really depends on the organism (plant, bacterium, etc) and what dyes (or stains) you used to see it, also whether it's alive or fixed (dead). it also depends on the type of microscope you use, to look at small organisms biologists commonly use compound microscopes.. so normally under a compound microscope you would see a cell membrane (or wall, depending on the type of organism), organelles, etc. take a look at this http://schools.cssd.ab.ca/sthelena/files/2014/09/Unit-2-Topic-2-p101-125.pdf
