HELP I don't understand.
#4 c,d,e
Oh wow that's cool! I'm working on a problem exactly like that for my homework right now :D. As I do it ill try to help
thank you
4 c part you have to find the first 4 terms, but you are already given the first 2 terms, so only 2 more terms to find, f(3) and f(4) Given: \[f(1)=2\]\[f(2)=5\] \[f(n)=2f(n-2)+f(n-1)\] We have to find: \[f(3)=?\] \[f(4)=?\] Let's start with f(3), Put 3 in place of every n as you do in a function \[f(3)=2f(3-2)+f(3-1)\] Simplify it a little \[f(3)=2f(1)+f(2)\] Now you are already given f(1) and f(2) so put their values in the equation and you'll get the answer similarly f(4) can be determined
I get 7 for f(3) is that correct?
hmm Nope
I input it into the calculator like that and i got 7
How do I solve it without a calculator? like step by step
The teacher didnt teach us, and this is my first day so I have no idea how to solve it when it comes to breaking down the equation to solve the problem.
u just put the values in place of f(1) and f(2)
