Flyers are folded into thirds before being stapled and mailed. If a page is 11 inches long, how wide is each section?

It's just a word problem. If you fold an 11 inch long paper into thirds, and the thirds are even, then each section must be 1/3 of the total length. Therefore, in this case each section should be 11/3 inches long.
