I'm writing a paper for English and need people to answer the question. What do you personally think self-reliance is in todays society as a teen? Or just your thoughts on the subject.

My personal thoughts on the matter: In my view, self-reliance is to be able to do things on my own. To attain independence. To acquire the ability to confide in myself rather than in others. It's a part of maturing and growing up. Once you get older, you'll eventually move out and start doing things on your own, so you won't be able to rely on others as much (if at all). This is why we must learn to become more and more self-reliant as we grow older. At the very basic of terms, it's a part of survival.
Would you say that one could become to self-reliant?
