OpenStudy (gokuporter):

What is the solution to the system of equations? Use the substitution method. 3x+2y=11 x-2=-4y

Is this multiple choice?

OpenStudy (wilsondanielle):

start by isolating for either x or y with either equation. Plug that value into the other equation and solve for the remaining variable. Use that solution to solve for the other variable. for example, in the second equation, x = -4y-2 plug that into the first equation and you get 3(-y-2) +2y = 11 . Because you only have one variable, you can solve for the real value of y, and then for x.
