OpenStudy (gabby2117):

how do you ask some one about their religion without offending them

OpenStudy (gabby2117):

I know it is a weird question, but I am writing a paper and I do not want to hurt her feelings

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

You can just ask in a sincere, not threatening way. But probably that wouldn't be the first thing you would ask somebody. If you're talking a bout asking a friend, it should just be a natural conversation.

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

You're going to ask some one about their religion in a paper?

OpenStudy (gabby2117):

no, i am writing a paper on a religion an I want to ask my friend who follows those beliefs with out offending her

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

What religion does she follow?

OpenStudy (gabby2117):

she is a jew

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, then if she is a friend it shouldnt offend her

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just be like im curious to know more about your religion and how it works

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

Explain to her that you are writing a paper about Judaism and wonder if she can help you understand some things about it. Ask questions and respect her answers. People are only offended if you don't show value for their thoughts. You don't have to agree. Just seek to understand.

OpenStudy (gabby2117):

thx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeh, just be honest with her...and tell her about it and if she gets uncomfortable by you asking then just try to get whatever info you can from either someone else or the internet
