Personally I believe there should be more training required to become a police officer within America (I am a citizen). All you need to become a police officer is a high school diploma or an equivalent, run 2 miles in a certain amount of time (physical exams) and take a very basic written exam. There should definitely be at least a one to two year education in psychology or some sort of social class equivalent. I can't tell you the amount of atrocities I've seen police commit. I am by no means saying all police are corrupt, as they aren't. But there is a good 20% that are in some way not following the law they sworn to uphold

Their job is to protect and serve the citizens of their country. It seems a lot of them start on the right path and somehow get power hungry and become corrupt later.

Ok If you are asking me, The police are trying to do there job but people are getting in there way for example when I was in traffic people kept getting out of the car to hurry the police up, when they where trying to take care of a car crash and a man on drugs but I think the police today are just trying to do there job but there are some police who shoot people for no reason. Well there's my opinion :)

It seems to be popular opinion that the police force in America currently isn't running at the capacity it could. There definitely needs to be a change. I agree with @Studygirl196556 that in some cases citizens do interfere with police affairs, but that is generally due to public panic. The police are generally called to defuse a situation where emotions are already running high. This is something the police should understand before they even reach their destination, and should be fully prepared for a violent confrontation (physical or verbal)
