A race car driver injures the right ventral root of his first lumbar vertebrate during a car crash. What major functions could be lost due to his injury? Movement in his lower extremities Sensation in his left lower extremities Movement in his upper extremities Sensation in the right section of his upper body FAN AND MEDAL WILL BE GIVEN

OpenStudy (neonumbrella5115):

Do you have a guess?

OpenStudy (ramirocruzo):

The dorsal root contains sensory fibers that control information like pain and temperature sensations, while the ventral root is made up of motor fibers that send electrochemical signals to the body’s muscles and glands. These impulses control the following: Muscular contractions Hormone synthesis Gland secretion As for in the case of Lumbar Nerve 1, it innervates: Quadratus lumborum Iliopsoas muscle Which means your lower body's movement will be affected. :D

OpenStudy (somy):

Well done, @RamiroCruzo
