Please help !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

write an equation in point slope form for the line through the given point with the given slope. (5,2); m=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can someone explain how to solve this? I am trying to go over the study guide for a test but i don't understand this

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Point slope form is written retrice\[y-y _{1}=m(x-x_{1})\] Therefore plug it in. \[y-(2)=(3)(x-5)\]

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Ignore retrice

Thank you! So can you check that i did a similiar question correct?

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

Sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-3, -5); m= -2/5 y-(-5) = (-2/5)(3)??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y+5=-2/5 (x-3) ?

OpenStudy (goldphenoix):

x= -3. So, it should be y + 5 = -2/3 (x+3) Cause negative plus a negative is positive :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you :)
