OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x)= 5x − 3 is {-13, -8, -3, 12, 17}, what is its domain?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Think of it this way: each number within the domain of f(x), if substited into f(x), produces one of the five numbers within the range. It's your job to work backwards and identify the five numbers that make up the domain. For example, if f(x) = 5x - 3 = -13, solve for x. The result, if correct, is one of the five numbers in the domain. Show all work, please.
