This "piecewise function" changes over from one formula to the other at x=-2.
Graph it yourself.  To the left of x=-2, graph 3x+2.
                             To the right of x=-2, graph  -(1/2)x + 3.
Then compare your graphs to the four sets of given graphs.

Could you explain a little more? We haven't gone over this topic in class, and I don't understand the concept.
