OpenStudy (karamarie02):

PLEASE ANSWER AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!! WILL FAN AND MEDAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Evaluate x -4/2 when x = –1.6.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Please leave the word "answer" out of your post; we are not allowed to provide answers with no involvement on the part of the student. Why the hurry? "Evaluate x -4/2 when x = –1.6." Just substitute -1.6 for x in (x-4)/ 2. I don't think you really mean x -4/2 , because that's equal to x - 2. Must use parentheses to indicate that x-4 must be evaluated before you divide the result by 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do u think it is

OpenStudy (karamarie02):

@savana24 10.6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and MATHMALE i ask for answers all the time so backoff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

replace \(x\) by \(-1.6\) and compute \[\huge \frac{-1.6-2}{4}\]

OpenStudy (karamarie02):

@satellite73 so is it 12.6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea HE/SHE is right u have to replace x sorry i am not very good at math at all no matter what math it is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it is not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use a calculator if you do not want to mess with the arithmetic or else first compute \(-1.6-2\) then divide the result by \(4\)

OpenStudy (karamarie02):

@satellite73 is it 0.9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-0.9
