look, I have taught countless students how to do this. the ones who actually do the steps I tell them to do understand it. the kids who just want an answer will not be able to do anything but guess. this is a basic concept you will need in every math class you encounter....

if you do as I say, you will be able to tell me whether it is correct and be confident that you are right. if you cannot tell me if it is correct, you do not know how to do this.

it is not hard if you understand the material. knowing the answer to this question on your study guide will not help you AT ALL if you do not understand the question and how to solve it. If you understand the process, you could have correctly answered a dozen of these problems in the time we have spent.

you have said you do not understand the question, that it is very complicated, and that you missed learning about this due to hospitalization. You have someone willing to explain it, but you aren't interested. Not a recipe for a good result on your exams.
