I think it's the first on because manchuria is in Japan
Sorry I meant one
Germany, Italy and Japan came to the Empire game late. England had a big empire. France had a big empire, even Spain and the Dutch had there turns at empire. The Germans and Italians didn't get it together as countries until the 1800s. Japan was closed to any outsiders until Commodore Perry forced their ports open. (That's about the only thing Millard Fillmore is remembered for his Presidency) Anyway, all the cool kids had empire. The newer countries wanted to play to. Japan takes over a bunch of islands and part of China known as Manchuria. Germany takes the Rhineland, which was sorta part of France and had been ruled by some nobleman or other before. They spoke German, or French. They were Luterhern or something else. There ties went both ways. Italy was shopping around. They went South into Africa and got alittle empire. They wanted to expand. Egypt British, then French and now British so they skippied it and went for Ethiopia, because everybody wants good beaches on the Indian Ocean. Everybody else got all upset with the new guys trying to be cool like they were and had a fit of these acts of aggression. Even though they had all been doing it for hundreds of years.
