The calories per serving for three sports drinks are 60 cal, 42 cal, and 90 cal. The probability of choosing a 60 calorie drink is 1/6. The probability i choosing the 42 calorie is 1/2. The probability of choosing a 90 calorie drink is 1/3. what is the expeccted value of calories in a drink
Ok so what you want to do here is a weighed average.
The answers are 48 56 58 61
I would multiply the calorie of each of them by the probability of choosing them and then add the results of each one of those to each other
ok.. one second.
okay.. so i got 59.5.. but that isnt an answer o.o
Nevermind, i got 38.5
Well thats shouldnt be it....
I FIGURED IT OUT I THINK cx
Ok I was gonna give an explanation but go ahead
The answer i got is 61, it divided 90 by 2/6 and gave me 7.5, but me dividing it by 1/3 is gave me 30... even though the fractions are the same. c: but i think i got the answer, is it right...? o.o you really helped me get started on this, thanks.
Yep you're welcome :D
thank you thank you c:
