The ______ nervous system receives information from sense organs and analyzes that information. A: Central B: Peripheral

OpenStudy (kat_s123):

"The primary role of the peripheral nervous system is to connect the central nervous system to the organs, limbs, and skin to allow for complex movements and behaviors."

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So central?

OpenStudy (kat_s123):

Okay, heres an example. When you touch something super hot your pns would respond and send that information to your cns. Your initial reaction is due to your pns (ie pulling your hand away), while icing your finger is your cns telling you that it hurts.

OpenStudy (kat_s123):

I believe the answer is the peripheral because sensory info goes thru it first and then to the cns

OpenStudy (kat_s123):

Eventually, think of the pns as responsible for life saving actions, although its far more complex than that.
