OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

How many threes would be listed in the stem area of a stem and leaf plot with the following data? { 12,12,22,23,33,34,36,37,48,47 } A. 2 B. 3 C. 4 D. 1 I think C which is 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Close- but you made a mistake. You got the stems mixed up with the leafs in the steam and leaf plot. Remember- the stem is the number in the tens place. So, there would be only one 3 stem and the answer would be D. However, you are right that their would be 4 leafs (3, 4, 6, and 7).

Oops *there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And *leaves XD lol sorry

OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

let me ask you this then if you had the same numbers but this time you wonted threes that are in the leaf area and your choices are A. 2 B. 3 C. 4 D. 5 wouldnt it be A

OpenStudy (dogshot193):

my guess is 3 THIS IS A GUESS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why would it be A...? I'd say C, because the numbers in the leaf area would be 3, 4, 6, and 7- 4 numbers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Unless it's not talking about how many leaves OF 3 but how many leafs that ARE 3, then I would say you're right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because then that would mean a 3 in the 2 stem and a 3 in the 3 stem.

OpenStudy (dogshot193):

also its just a GUESS |dw:1452219674639:dw|
