Mr. Krauthammer was very adamant about making the worst mistake in his life by impulsively going to Harvard to become a doctor. Because of an accident he spent a lot of time doing his medical studies in a hospital bed. There while watching patients move around the building, he realized he didn’t want to be a doctor anymore. He wrote a respond to New York Times because a horrible article he read. That’s when he decided he wanted to become a journalist even though he never enjoyed the process of writing. This is a perfect example of critically thinking and what I learning in chapter one.
Because of an impulsive decision not backed up by research or a Clear understanding of the duties of a doctor, he chose something that wasn’t right for him. Years later he realized that life would’ve been better as a youth if he would’ve just enjoyed and lived in the moment. This is an example that critically analysis important decisions in your life are very vital in your future. I would disagree with his thought on not making a decision on what you want to do with your life. Because I believe that if you explore things you’re interested in and travel, you should be able to make wise decisions on your future.
