I need help with a few word problems, anyone care to help?

OpenStudy (fedorable):

sure,only because phan

OpenStudy (fedorable):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol thanks, so the first one is: A total of 441 tickets were sold for the school play. They were either adult tickets or student tickets. The number of student tickets sold was two times the number of adult tickets sold. How many adult tickets were sold? like I'm not sure what operations I need to solve it.

OpenStudy (fedorable):

ok, you would divide 441 by three.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, so I've got 147 now.

OpenStudy (fedorable):

that is your answer :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you sooo much! ^_^

OpenStudy (fedorable):

no problem, anything else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One more, I tried to solve this yesterday and all my answers were wrong. I'm just no good at math lol but here: A local hamburger shop sold a combined total of 823 hamburgers and cheeseburgers on Wednesday. There were 73 more cheeseburgers sold than hamburgers. How many hamburgers were sold on Wednesday?

OpenStudy (fedorable):

do 823 divided by 2, then that number + 73. do you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep! I did it and got 484.5.

OpenStudy (fedorable):

Correct! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for all your help! ✰✰✰

OpenStudy (fedorable):

no problem :D
