Time (hours) 1 2 3 4 5 Distance (miles) 24.5 49 73.5 98 122.5 Suppose that a bicyclist is riding at a steady speed. The table represents the distance she travels in a given period of time. Use the graph to select how far she would travel in 8 hours time. a. 220.5 miles c. 147 miles b. 196 miles d. 171.5 miles

OpenStudy (mathmale):

You can assume that the rider's speed is always the same. This greatly simplifies matters. You want to know how far the rider rides in 8 hours, but the table only goes up to 5 hours? Which two numbers, neither = to 8, when added together, equal 8? Both of these numbers show up in the table under "time." Write down the corresponding 2 distances traveled and sum them up.

OpenStudy (decarr432):

Or from hour one to hour two we can notice that there is an increase of 24.5 so simply take 24.5*8 and you will have your answer :D @Pikachu1234567
