A.Weakening of the bony matrix B.Weakening of hydroxyapatite C.Abnormal bone healing because the procallus cannot be broken down D.Abnormal bone healing because the bony callus cannot form

Awolflover1 (awolflover1):

Hello There! Welcome To Openstudy!! :D Do you have any ideas?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Awolflover1 Thank you! I know that osteoids fail to form due to scurvy, so I was thinking A or D

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

@Awolflover1 I like your username but if you have this I will leave it to you.

Awolflover1 (awolflover1):

Haha,Thanks :3

Awolflover1 (awolflover1):

I think A is correct, What do you think @MedicalDoctor ?

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

Scurvy is a disease that occurs when a person does not have enough vitamin C in the diet. Vitamin C is found in fresh fruits and vegetables. The first sign of scurvy is swollen, bleeding gums, followed by bleeding under the skin. This may lead to a blood disorder called anemia.

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

Based off of this do you have any ideas?

Awolflover1 (awolflover1):

Ahh I see Good Job Explaining!

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

Thanks!

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

So most people do make a full recovery soon after adding more vitamin C to a balanced diet of food.

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

Patients develop anemia, debility, exhaustion, edema (swelling) in some parts of the body, and sometimes ulceration of the gums and loss of teeth.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MedicalDoctor Oh wow thank you so much for the detailed explanation! Then as a result the bony matrix would be weakened correct?

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

Well can you give me a definition of the bony matrix and the hydroxyapatite?

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

Hydroxyapatite makes up bone mineral and the matrix of teeth. Basically I think this is the best option there.

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

So your answer would be B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was just going to say, it looks like I forgot about the hydroxyapatite. Thank you so much! @MedicalDoctor

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

No problem!

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

Any time you have more questions specifically about anatomy and physiology let me know.

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

Do you have any questions about what I have said so far?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For sure, thank you! And no, your explanation was very detailed and easy to follow.

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

Ok great! I am glad I explained it well!
