How were Japan and China culturally different at the end of the 19th century? A. Many Japanese began to convert to European religions, while most Chinese continued to follow their own religious traditions and beliefs. B. Japan opened its society and culture to Western influences, while China continued to resist any outside influence on its customs and beliefs. C. Although both Japan and China began to westernize their cultures, China adapted new ideas into its culture much faster than Japan.
