what are the coordinates of the vertex y=-x^2-8x+2

OpenStudy (decarr432):

https://www.desmos.com/calculator

OpenStudy (decarr432):

then type your problem in and it will show you the figure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh my gosh, I had been on that calc all day and didn't even think of it. Sorry it's finals tonight and I've been working all day

OpenStudy (danjs):

there is some work showing algebra, then you get to axis of symetry - x coord vertex = -b/(2a) from ax^2+bx+c

OpenStudy (danjs):

yeah max/min value for x if you do calc too

OpenStudy (decarr432):

Its cool glad to help anyway I can

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you guys, I got it. Just so tired and so much more to do

OpenStudy (danjs):

ah the algebra thing from middle school or whatever matches the y'=0=2ax+b, for that x value, ill be dam.. of course it does
