Suppose the value of Young's modulus (GPa) was determined for cast plates consisting of certain intermetallic substrates, resulting in the following sample observations: 116.3 115.6 114.5 115.2 115.7 Calculate the deviations from the mean. (Enter your answers to two decimal places.) x 116.3 115.6 114.5 115.2 115.7 (b) Use the deviations calculated in part (a) to obtain the sample variance and the sample standard deviation. (Round your answers to three decimal places.) (c) Calculate s2 by using the computational formula for the numerator Sxx. (Round your answer to three decimal pl

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

(d) Subtract 100 from each observation to obtain a sample of transformed values. Now calculate the sample variance of these transformed values. (Round your answer to three decimal places.)

wait mathmale let me do something.

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

I am going to attach an image of the question... give me a sec

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

The boxes that I filled in are my answers

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

I can attach an image with my work. Would you like to see that mathmale?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

I've been able to view your copy of the problem statement, and yes, I do see some boxes filled with your answers. I also see that you're asked to find s-squared (variance?) using an alternative method. Hate to say this, r_s, but I'm not up to helping with this, as much as I'd love to. I have no references here and haven't touched stat at this level for 2-3 years now.

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

Okay thanks mathmale.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Really sorry, R_S. Hope to speak with you again soon.

OpenStudy (raffle_snaffle):

No worries, thanks for checking it out.
