write the word equation for lipase breaks down lipids into fatty acids and glycerol
Any ideas?
lipase breaks down the lipids?
not sure
The word equation for this reaction is:

ok what about the equation for pepsin breaks down proteins into amino acids
o how do i add pepsin in the equation?

this is the last equation what about 'potato posphorylase builds up glucose molecules into large starch molecules for storage inside potato cells'
Potato phosphorylase builds up glucose molecules into large starch molecules for storage inside potato cells
On this one I am not exactly sure sorry....
@zaynab123 help me
potato phosphorylase
i think its glucose
Ahh the starch phosphorylase. And potato phosphorylase is a really poor name btw. phosphorylase is just a subclass of transferases so we are interested in the molecule it works on.
i need an equation for this
The starch phosphorylase acts on starch to form phosphorylated glucose so the reaction is: Starch --(starch phosphorylase)--> \(\alpha\)-D-glucose-1-phosphate
i dont understand this equation
the enzyme amylase (a carbohydrate) breaks down starch to produce glucose. the equation for this was like:
