OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

Are the following figures similar?

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

Select one: a. Yes; the corresponding sides are proportional. b. No; the corresponding sides are not proportional. c. Yes; the corresponding angles are proportional. d. No; the corresponding angles are not proportional.

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

@LGumboymath234 can you help

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

@ShadowLegendX

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A.

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

Why? How are you sure?

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

Nevermind I read them wrong sorry.....

563blackghost (563blackghost):

@LGumboymath234 you must help the openstudier and not give away the answers....that is in violation of the code of conduct...

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

@LGumboymath234 how did you get A?

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

Is it because the angles are the same therefore not proportional?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

One way to see if they are proportional we would divide corresponding sides so... \[50 \div 30\] and \[20/12\] now if the quotient are both the same then they are proportional....

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

So we just take both sides and divide by the other side?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Correct ^^

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

Ok in that case they are proportional.

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

So it would indeed be A.

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

Because both are 1.6............

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Yup ^^

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

Ok thanks!

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Np ^^

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

Can you help me with some more? @563blackghost

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

I will make another question after closing this one?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

I actually have to go :( but if you do see me on later and still need help just tag me in your question..ok? ^^

OpenStudy (mathaphobia):

Ok thanks!

563blackghost (563blackghost):

np ^^
