sequences lol no clue how to do

OpenStudy (decarr432):

OpenStudy (decarr432):

@roadjester

OpenStudy (roadjester):

Okay, so this problem is interesting, and it takes us back to what we discussed earlier about breaking up fractions.

OpenStudy (roadjester):

\[f({ax+b) \over c}\]

OpenStudy (roadjester):

So, what you want to do is separate the fractions, and if they are already separated, then you're good to go. \[f({\frac a c}x + {\frac b c})\] You only care about the number part, not the part with the x

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

@Decarr432 1) @Decarr432 - You can't have NO clue. That's just not possible and it's certainly not worthy of "lol". 2) Show YOUR work, or it looks like cheating. 3) Have to agree with RJ - an interesting problem. It does lack some information, in and of itself, but there seems to be reasonable assumptions sufficient to solve it. 4) It has nothing to do with "sequences". The author just wants you to line them up so it's easier to grade. 5) RJ, try this \ ( f \ l e f t ( \ d f r a c { a x + b } { c } \ r i g h t ) \ ) -- Much nicer result.

OpenStudy (roadjester):

once you've done the separation, the more postive the number, the further left the vertex is, and the further negative, the further to the right it is.

OpenStudy (decarr432):

@tkhunny The entire story of my career is this when I was a freshman in highschool I was cocky i knew alot about everything but math and only struggled in math so I took algebra 1a a half year class but here is the thing my school at which i took the class didn't have a teacher for my class the whole year so i ended up passing and learned not a single thing then 10th grade year they put me into geometry without teaching me anything for algebra barely passed that class got a lot of help from friends and teachers but when I moved to TN I got into credit recovery which is an online course just for classes I didn't get to do, Now I have to learn all of this over because I have no clue whats going on in my algebra 2 class now in my junior year of highschool so yes I have no clue what is going on

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

False. With a background like that, you probably have more clue than half the students who got all As in those classes. Just remember that mathematics requires thinking. The answer will not drop on your head. Take a deep breath. Think about what you are doing. Ne need to be frustrated and no need to believe you can't do it.

OpenStudy (decarr432):

Okay I will do that but match to me makes 0 sense and makes me want to rip my hair out

OpenStudy (decarr432):

math lol not match

OpenStudy (roadjester):

f(x+4) will be more left than f(x+3) because if you set the part in the parentheses x+4=0, therefore x=-4 x+3=0 therefore x=-3 and on the x axis, -4 is more left than -3. The vertical stretch, the number being multiplied to x, is irrelevant.

OpenStudy (roadjester):

But anyways, I've got my own math hw (It's actually a math/vector calculus review for Electro- and magneto- statics and time variant electromagnetism) so I need to get started.

OpenStudy (decarr432):

Okay good luck on it
