Efficiency is useful work done (ie energy which is not wasted) divided by the total energy input. It will be a number between 0 and 1. Sometimes the efficiency is required as a percentage.

But remember here the useful energy is (4-3.5)*10^5 since energy expelled as heat is NOT useful energy...that's why we are subtracting..
