I've recently got a computer that motherboard was broken, I got a new motherboard for it and for some reason it turns on and then about 2 - 3 seconds it turns off. Does anyone know anything?
And the type of computer is IBM thinkpad T-410.
hmmm is it posting at all?
i would try troubleshooting with the bare minimum and see if it even posts.
do a bios check on start uo where u can do a hard ware and power check aswell
I tried, it cut off.
it's not the mother board it's the computer you should take it to those people who fix computer or just buy a new pc
To me thats not an option.
So I will wait for a more reasonable answer.
-_- whatever bro, ur computer not mine
I did not mean to offend you. My apologies.
Did you check try booting it with the minimum hardware attached to boot?
Is it making any beeps?
A list of things to try: 1. Remove CMOS battery, drain power, put back CMOS battery. > If that does not work, try: 2. Remove the battery, and only leave power to the machine via cabal. > If that works, then you need a new battery. If neither of the above work, I would look into returning the motherboard replacement, possibly it is incompatible or was just DoA.
@rsmith6559 yes it is.
@kva1992 I will try that. Thanks
@Opcode okay I will try those next.
Okay, beeps are how the motherboard communicates errors. There will be groups of beeps. When you get them into a number you can check against the motherboard's manufacturer's website.
@Opcode It was the CMOS Battery. Thank you very much. :D
Cheers, glad you got it working.
