Find the area of a triangle with a base of 6x+2 and a height of -2.

OpenStudy (albert0898):

Hi! First, we need to know the formula to figure out the area of a triangle. This is, in layman's terms, Area = (Base)(Height)(1/2) or A = (B)(H)(.5) Second, we must plug in the data provided. We know that the base if 6x+2 and the height is -2. Now plug it in. Area = (6x+2)(-2)(.5) Third, multiply. (-12x - 4)(.5) -6x - 2
