I will upload a photo of the problems (which are hand written out) but can someone help me and explain step by step how to do at least one without directly giving out the answer? Will medal and fan.

so we want x alone on one side of the equal sign, and remember what we do to one side we must ALWAYS do to the other

3x = 2 + 14y (on the left we have 3 times x, the opposite of multiplication is division)

divide both sides by 3 to get x alone

(3x)/3 = (2+14y)/3

now we get \[x= \frac{ 2+14y }{ 3 }\] (I am pretty sure this is what it wants you to do)

NEXT EQUATION:

y=-6x+18 (this will have more steps because x must be alone)

lets flip it around (make it easier, same problem just will look different)

-6x + 18 = y

we need the "x" term (-6x) alone so subtract 18 from both sides

-6x +18-18 = y -18
this becomes

-6x = y- 18

now we need to separate x from the -6 (divide both sides by -6)

(-6x)/ -6 = (y-18)/ -6

Final answer should be
\[x = \frac{ y-18 }{ -6 }\] or \[x = - ~\frac{ y-18 }{ 6 }\]
either is correct

you can also use cymath.com it is the only online math calculator i use because it shows you how to work the problem out (it does not work for super complex problems, so i wouldn't recomend using it all the time, but it works for simple stuff like this) if you need to solve for a certain variable (aka letter) type in your problem like 3x = 2+14y :x ( if you put a colon : and the variable it will solve for that letter)
