Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation. 5(6x+4)+1=−39 Simplify: (Hide steps) (5)(6x)+(5)(4)+1=−39(Distribute) 30x+20+1=−39 (30x)+(20+1)=−39(Combine Like Terms) 30x+21=−39 30x+21=−39
Step 2: Subtract 21 from both sides. 30x+21−21=−39−21 30x=−60
