Can you figure out how many questions I need to get correct to pass my test? There are 27 questions total, each question is worth 5 points, to pass I have to get an 80% or higher. How many questions do I need to get correct to pass?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Hint : Since each question is worth the same, the number of questions you need to get correct doesn't depend on the marks that each question is worth.

OpenStudy (md152727):

27 questions, Each is 5 points means 5*27

OpenStudy (md152727):

135 points

OpenStudy (md152727):

You have to get 108 points

OpenStudy (md152727):

or about 105 105/5 = about 22 questions right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u have to get 21 right to get a 70

OpenStudy (md152727):

22

OpenStudy (annie12m):

idc how you solve it i just want to know how many questions i need to get right to earn a 80% or higher

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u have to get 23 right to get a 80

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Try this approach: Let x=the number of questions you have to get correct to pass. Then solve the following equation for x: \[\frac{ x }{ 27 }=0.80\]\] You pass if you have x questions (or more) correct.

OpenStudy (annie12m):

x=21.6 so i have to get correct 22 or up to pass?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

23 or up
