Evaluate −6 − (−3).

OpenStudy (elonasushchik):

The opposite of subtraction is addition, so I'll undo the –3 by adding 3 to both sides, and then adding down: Then the solution is x = –2. You can use the Mathway widget below to practice solving a linear equation by adding or subtracting. Try the entered exercise, or type in your own exercise. so answer is -3

@Lorefice21 did you already get it?

OpenStudy (priyar):

An easier way to do thid is to remember -*-=+ so u will get \[-6 +3\]

OpenStudy (priyar):

to do this take the '-' sign outside to get \[-(6-3)\] solve for inside the bracket.. \[-(3)\] then remove the brackets and u have ur answer!

OpenStudy (priyar):

the more you practise such kind of q's the more easier it will be for you to solve these..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Two negatives equal a positive So, -6-(-3) could change into -6 + 3 -3 is your answer
