Hey there! We need to isolate 'r'!
OpenStudy (luckycharms988):
Okay
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Since we're dividing r by 4, we need to do the opposite to get rid of 4.
What's the opposite of division?
We'll get to that negative in a while!
OpenStudy (luckycharms988):
We need to multiply 8 and 4?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
correct! So what is 8 x 4= ?

32, i just dont know which one it is.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So now we have
-r < 32
Now, here's the tricky part! Just stay with me! :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
We need to get rid of the negative sign by w. We can do that by multiply both sides by -1.
-1 x -1 = 1
But here's the catch.
When we deal with inequalities, if we ever multiply or divide by a negative number that means we need to change the sign!
OpenStudy (luckycharms988):
Hm, So A.?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Let me give you an example.
-x > 4
If I multiply -1 on both sides, I have isolated 'x' but I'll need to flip the sign from > to a <.
So
-x > 4
-x * -1 > 4 * -1
x < -4
So do the same for your question!
You have
-r < 32
Solve for r! :D
