Experimental design help please

OpenStudy (jessicawade):

You are interested in the extent to which taking vitamin C in high doses (1000mg a day) prevents the catching of a cold. You have 300 volunteers to participate in your study. You know that will receive no treatment. A) identify the treatment b) Either in a paragraph or in diagram form, design the experiment to answer your question. Be sure to include the element of randomization in your design.

@Michele_Laino

OpenStudy (jessicawade):

Im not sure for A if there is no treatment or the vitamin C

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

I think no treatment

OpenStudy (jessicawade):

well i though tthat too but there is one group that does have one and one that doesnt.

OpenStudy (jessicawade):

@Michele_Laino

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

sorry, you are right!

OpenStudy (jessicawade):

so what do you think it would be the vitamin? lol this question confuses me.

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

It is vitamin C, since the experiment is to extend such vitamin at higher dosages

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

we divide the group of 300 volunteers, into two subgroups. One subgroup, will be treated with higher dosages of vitamine C, the other subgroup, will not be treated with higher dosages with vitamine C

OpenStudy (jessicawade):

ok do you have any idea how to complete task b?

OpenStudy (jessicawade):

@Michele_Laino
