I need help with a question. I don't know how to really answer it. Based on your notes in your reading journal, explain why Roosevelt's speech was such a big success. Use specific language from the speech to explain what is memorable and effective. I know it's based on my knowledge I am just having trouble on what to say.

OpenStudy (adrianna.gongora):

@Hayhayz can you help by any chance ?

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

So basically after reading his speech, explain what is so important, what is the big idea why does it have an effect on people. all in all why was the speech so successful. is this what you needed? or are you still stuck :)

OpenStudy (adrianna.gongora):

I think what was so important was the fact that he grabbed a hold oh his audiences attention and made them believe what he was telling them he gave them a little sense of security and hope. He was able to convince them that we have had harder times and just as always we will come back. He told them the plan and made them feel just as involved. I believe what made his speech so successful was the information he gave them and how he added a little bit of light to their dark times. is that right? @Hayhayz

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

yes that sounds great! maybe try to add something directly from the speech as well

OpenStudy (adrianna.gongora):

I think what was so important was the fact that he grabbed a hold oh his audiences attention and made them believe what he was telling them he gave them a little sense of security and hope. He was able to convince them that we have had harder times and just as always we will come back. "This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself....In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory. I am convinced that you will again give that support to leadership in these critical days." He told them the plan and made them feel just as involved. I believe what made his speech so successful was the information he gave them and how he added a little bit of light to their dark times. Like this?

OpenStudy (adrianna.gongora):

@Hayhayz

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

Yes, try to explain the significance of that quote a bit. Explain it a bit more and youre all good :)

OpenStudy (adrianna.gongora):

I've already explained them though just in my own words ._. can you explain it a little ? @Hayhayz

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

Oh i see it now haha it sounds good :)

OpenStudy (adrianna.gongora):

oh okay haha I like reread it 4 times :)

Hayhayz (hayhayz):

OpenStudy (adrianna.gongora):
