This is a graph of a parabola that opens downwards. You're going to need to find the vertex and then the x-intercepts to see where its branches hit the x-axis. To do that factor the equation. \[y=-1(x^2-8x+12)\] \[y=-1(x-6)(x-2)\] x-intercepts are (6,0) and (2,0). The formula to find the x of the vertex is -b/2a. a=1 b=-8 \[x=-\frac{ -8 }{ (2)1 }\]\[x=4\] plug it back into the equation to find the y value\[y=-1(4-6)(4-2)\]\[y=-1(-2)(2)\] so y=4. Vertex=(4,4)
